Wood and Strings

The world is full of many things  •  That fill our hearts and give them wings
Yet what compares to wood and strings  •  That joy and pain and solace brings

A thousand stories told in song  •  Calm us when all else is wrong
The balladeer plays soft but strong  •  And bids our voices sing along

Then in the glow of firelight  •  When all is good and all is right
We drift off gently in the night  •  To arpeggios in flight
